Aww, that just sucks :(

Aye, indeed. I don't take offense very easily but I do have my limits.
Ah well - even without that there are comics I like much better anyway.

Perhaps he was saying "Religious extremism caused 9-11, and I can totally understand that, because the republican party is FULL of religous extremism!"
Heh... if only that were the case, I would have been chuckling at the comic just as I was chuckling at your comment :) I would have kept reading the comic, too.

I've had similar negative experiences. Good art does not always mean a good person making it (look at Richard Wagner - and as fun as they probably were, would you honestly enjoy hanging out with Basquiat, Pollock, or Tolouse-Latrec?). Which is as always fine right up to the point where the artist's less than nice bits ooze out into the art. This is easier to do in creator-driven comics - you look at Dave Sim for instance - than other media.
Ignoring an artist is perhaps the nastiest thing you can do in response to them. So it's a pretty appropriate response here.
Yeah, I figured ceasing to read the artist's work and not even mentioning its title or location in my post (since I don't think he deserves more hits on his pages) were conscious choices I made when I posted.
I don't usually resort to such language but it was late and I was tired and cranky - in part understandably :)

Oh, ick. The notion that one's response to a tragedy is contingent political affiliation is ridiculous and repugnant. What a poopyhead. *hugs and ear scritches*

Thanks kindly for the words, hugs, and scritches :)
I'm feeling less angsty about it, but I was up too late last night so my filters were a little looser. Ah well - I'd be quite unhappy about it when rested, too.
Have a great weekend, and then some!

I hope to. I'm going to a party at some place called "Skylab". Maybe you've heard of it? S'posed to be a gang of hooligans and reprobates. I'll fit right in... *grin*
~Jess
Are you sure that's a good idea? I hear they're in league with such dubious critters as squirrels and coyotes. You can never be sure about folk like that.
Perhaps they'll find serenity in their hearts anyway.

I'm willing to take that gamble.

I am actually, underneath, a fairly conservative person. Like my husband in many ways, I tend toward the ideals originally put forth by the Republican Party (which in this day and age more closely resembles the Democratic Party).
This kind of annoying drivel is one big reason that even RCDwarf has finally disassociated himself with a group that has become known for mindless conservatist extremisms.
Sparrow
I have no problem with conservatives as a group; like most groups, the ones that annoy me most are the fanatics who can't see any way but their own and disdain others' views as did this cartoonist.
The Republican party has been sullied by its current associations with the most extreme of the religious nuts. I can only hope the party as a whole can manage eventually to cleanse themselves of this stain and go back to true conservatism.
Thanks for stopping by, and hope to see you at the party!
